The City

Bologna (for BA Food & Science Technology)

Bologna is the principal city of the Emilia-Romagna Region in Northern Italy. It has approx. 380,000 inhabitants. Home to the oldest university in the world, University of Bologna, founded in 1088, Bologna hosts thousands of students who enrich the social and cultural life of the city. Famous for its towers and lengthy porticoes, Bologna has a well-preserved historical center (one of the largest in Italy) thanks to a careful restoration and conservation policy.

Rimini(for BA Tourism Business Studies and MA Entrepreneurship & Tourism)

Rimini is situated in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. It is located on the Adriatic Sea, near the coast between the rivers Marecchia (the ancient Ariminus) and Ausa (Aprusa). Coast navigation and fishing are traditional industries and, together with Riccione, it is probably the most famous seaside resort on the Adriatic Riviera.Rimini is provided with six railway stations (Rimini, Rimini Fiera, Rimini Miramare, Rimini Rivazzurra, Rimini Viserba and Rimini Torre Pedrera).

It is served by the Federico Fellini Airport, airport of Rimini and San Marino.

The University

The University of Bologna is the oldest continually operating university in the world. The word 'universitas' being first used by this institution at its foundation. The true date of its founding is uncertain, but believed by most accounts to have been 1088. Since 2000, the University's motto has been Alma mater studiorum (Latin for "fostering mother of studies"). The university is historically notable for its teaching of canon and civil law. Until modern times, the only degree granted at that university was the doctorate.

The University counts about 100,000 students in its 23 faculties. It has branch centers in Reggio Emilia, Imola, Ravenna, Forlì, Cesena and Rimini and a branch center abroad in Buenos Aires. Moreover, it has a school of excellence named Collegio Superiore di Bologna.
