Due to its advantageous position adjacent to Macao, a capitalist trading center similar to Shenzhen's position with Hong Kong, it is an important economic area in China. In addition, Zhuhai and the surrounding landscapes have a reputation within China of being a garden city with a high quality of life.
The United International College | Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University was co-founded by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University as a cooperation in higher education between Chinese mainland and Hong Kong in 2005.
Its mission is advancing the internationalization of Chinese higher education and taking the lead in implementing liberal arts education in China. English is the medium of instruction at UIC. The college has established the Divisions of Business and Management, Culture and Creativity, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Technology, in addition to the Graduate School offering numerous undergraduate and graduate programs all together.
