Description

Operating in a fast-changing environment of increased uncertainty, firms have to make decisions under risk that influence their performance on the market. However, family firms differ from non-family firms in their management and ownership structure, which leads to different risk behavior. In this MCIWebinar, the students will get an introduction to the risk taking behavior of family firms. Through critical readings and group discussions, the MCIWebinar introduces underlying theories affecting risk taking in family firms.

In this MCIWebinar students therefore

  • gain knowledge about the essentials of risk management
  • learn to apply this knowledge to the case of family firms considering special dynamics in family firm risk behavior
  • improve skills on critical reading and working in groups, while understanding family firm theory
