South Orange is a town in New Jersey with approx. 17,000 inhabitants.The village is one of only a few in New Jersey to retain gas light street illumination (others include Riverton, Palmyra and Glen Ridge). The gaslight, together with the distinctive Village Hall, has long been the symbol of South Orange.

The University

Seton Hall University is a private Roman Catholic university. Founded in 1856 by Archbishop James Roosevelt Bayley and named after his aunt, Elizabeth Ann Seton, Seton Hall is the oldest diocesan university in the United States.

Seton Hall consists of eight schools and colleges. It was ranked tied for 123rd in Best National Universities by U.S. News & World Report in 2016, with the School of Law ranked tied for 63rd. The Stillman School of Business was ranked 78th of 132 undergraduate business schools in the nation by Bloomberg Businessweek in 2014.
