The City


New Delhi is the capital city of India and the seat of all three branches of the Government of India.
It is the largest commercial city in northern India and home to numerous international organisations. Hindi is the most widely spoken language in New Delhi and the lingua franca of the city. English is primarily used as the formal language by business and government institutes.

The University


Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is a public university located in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1969 and named after Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister. JNU offers high quality education, ranked number one in India by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and no 3 among all universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Government of India, in 2016 and no 2 in 2017.
It collaborates with universities across the world in research projects, conferences, and publications and exchanges faculty and students with them regularly.
