 Digitalization and digital transformation have become increasingly important for companies in all industries. Nowadays, companies must take into account the different developments according to the digitalization. Especially the development of new digital business ideas and the establishment of digital businesses e.g. Uber, AirBnB, Facebook, slideshare etc lead to new management approaches. These digital business models also require from company leader new leadership approaches. Therefore this course addresses the need for digitalization in business and new business development. The course is based on a variety of company cases that help students understand the topic of digital entrepreneurship and the different challenges in this regard. Throughout the course students will learn by case studies and different group works how to develop digital ideas in a fast changing environment. In order to successfully complete this course, students are required to work on a business plan. This task will require considerable time for self-guided learning by students under close supervision by the course facilitator.
