Bangalore, is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. Located on the Deccan Plateau in the south-eastern part of Karnataka, Bangalore is India's third most populous city and fifth-most populous urban agglomeration (with approx. 5,8 million inhabitants).

A demographically diverse city, Bangalore is a major economic and cultural hub and the fastest growing major metropolis in India.
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is one of India's premier management institutes. It is widely considered to be one of the toughest to get in MBA programs in the world. The IIMs are very selective in admissions. The year 2008 saw around 267,000 candidates appearing for the Common Admission Test, the entrance exam for the IIMs. The IIMs were created by the government of India to augment management talent and resources in the country.
