About Earth Day

MCI Earth Day 2021 is an initiative organised by MCI students. The main objective is to show that each of us has the power to contribute to a brighter future and a better world with small everyday changes.

MCI Earth Day 2021 is open for everybody to participate, with English as the official language, and all events accessible online. Our overall framework are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and our motto is “We are all responsABLE”.

Participants will have the opportunity to join a social media competition, show what they do to contribute to a better world, and win prizes at the same time.

MCI Earth Day concludes with an evening of thought-provoking keynote speeches and a panel discussion on the 22nd of April 2021.

Social Media Challenge

The first pillar of the concept is the Social Media Challenge on Instagram. The challenges are based on the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and further inspired by the Principles for Responsible Management Education initiative.

Starting on the 22nd of March 2021 you will get the chance to participate in 8 challenges, two per week on Mondays and Thursdays. The main idea is simple: we give you a topic, you share a story relating to it where you tag us @earthday_mci and our hashtag #EDmci202! The last challenge falls on the 15th of April, after that we will choose winners and announce them during the speaker session.

Prizes and sponsors and partners TBA.

Speaker session

The second pillar is the speaker session that will take place in the evening of the 22nd of April. The aim is to bring us closer to the topics that are talked about but not really acted upon. As the speakers come from different backgrounds, they can provide different perspectives and their experience will help to broaden our horizons. Participation takes place online and is free of charge, but the number of places is limited!
