    Upon successful completion of the subject "Peace and Tourism - Cultivating Cultural and Listening Awareness" by Isabelle Guibert, students should
    • understand what peace and violence imply
    • be aware of the role of tourism in peace and violence/conflict
    • acquire insight into culture and intercultural competence
    • be able to cope with unexpected situations and take distance from own mindset by getting out of comfort zone
    • listen consciously and empathetically
    • empower (self-)leadership by deepening their emotional awareness

    Upon successful completion of this subject as taught by Dr. Bauer, students should be able to
    1. Explain some selected main terms, concepts and theories related to cross cultural competencies
    2. understand how to apply those terms, concepts and theories
    3. Critically evaluate and reflect those concepts and theories of culture in the field system
    4. Apply ethical standards in relation to tourism

    This subject is designed to build awareness, train, explore and critically evaluate cross-cultural competencies in the context of tourism. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of culture-relevant knowledge, applicable to multiple levels, and above all reflect their own cross-cultural competencies.

    • Students will be constantly asked to self-reflect, give their opinion, express themselves.
