Zusatzinfo zu Prüfungsmodalidäten

Regular and repeat examination (first and second attempt):

• Written exam* composed of: membrane technology basics, open questions, decision questions (right / wrong), calculations

- Test duration: 90 minutes
- Permitted resources: Non-programmable calculator (see list on Sakai); handwritten formula sheet
- Scope of the exam: natural scientific and process engineering fundamentals are required

• Optional: project work

- Bonus of up to 20% (on the exam result)
- Teams of up to two students
- Communication whether the project work will be carried out must take place before the examination (last teaching units).
- Online submission of project report and data
- The result of the project work also counts for the second attempt but not for the last attempt. A new submission is not possible.

* Note: If there are three or less students, the examination will be held as an oral examination (15 minutes preparation time, 45 minutes oral examination)

Board examination (last attempt):
• Duration: 15 minutes preparation time, 45 minutes oral examination
• Exam type: oral; in front of a commission of three lecturers
• Scope of the exam: natural scientific and process engineering fundamentals are required
• Permitted resources: : Non-programmable calculator (see list on Sakai); handwritten formula sheet

Students acquire a basic knowledge of membrane technology, which over the past decades has gained importance as a branch of separation technology. Consequently, they develop a holistic approach to membrane plants considering everything from the selection of membrane materials to the possibilities of operational management.
