Learning outcomes of the course unit
  • The primary aim of the course is that students understand the formulation and dynamic of groups and acquire basic skills for leading different types of groups. In this context the students gain important knowledge about groupwork and group functioning, models of groupwork and roles in groups.

    - Methods and models of social groupwork
    - Importance and possible use cases of goup work in social work
    - Leadership theories and styles in groups
    - Groups phases and behavior
    - Communication in groups
    - Conflicts in groups

  • The course comprises an interactive mix of lectures, discussions and individual and group work.
