Library

The availability of research facilities and a place for quiet reflection in combination with efficient access to scientific literature is fundamental to a modern university infrastructure. The MCI provides libraries and study areas with a wide selection of books, journals, magazines and newspapers at multiple locations as well as comprehensive online resources.

We support your research, teaching and study activities as usual:

  • We offer access to an extensive digital collection of eBooks, eJournals & more from many different subject areas. If you need literature that is only available in printed form and is currently not accessible, we will try to find a free access solution or will provide scans for you.
  • All of our online resources are easily accessible from the comfort of your own home - go to the databases. We have extended this offer considerably!
  • To access the licensed online content, please follow the instructions for remote access via Shibboleth.

Contact us by phone and email - we are doing our best to fully support you. Stay healthy! ♥

In addition to its own Library Services, the MCI has signed a cooperation agreement with the University and State Library of Tyrol (ULB) that provide MCI’s teachers, students and researchers with full access to the university library facilities.

Use of ULB services requires activation of the MCI Student Card as ULB Library Card: myMCI > Profile > Privacy > ULB

(if you don't have your student card yet you can still activate it as the library card and use any form of ID for using the ULB facilities and borrowing books)

All print resources in the MCI libraries can be found in the ULB's discovery service (where you also find all print and online resources of ULB; no remote access):

Opening hours of all ULB branches

For longer stays it is mandatory to book a seat: Book a seat here
However, as the reservation system is available only in German, you can also simply go to the information desk in the library, ask for a place and they will help you there with the check in :)

You can also order scans (max. 100 pages per week) and use inter-library loan (for literature that is not available in Innsbruck) after login to BibSearch.
