The students:
- are able to independently acquire knowledge for a development project.
- are capable of designing, evaluating, and selecting design variants.
- have expertise in managing complex projects concerning timelines and costs.
- can design, calculate, and document medical and sports technology devices.
- are able to apply their theoretical knowledge in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of mechatronic systems.
- are capable of assessing the legal and economic impacts of a product.

- Creativity methods for product development
- Project management for complex projects
- Preliminary development and design of mechatronic products
- Literature and patent research
- Cost and market analysis
- Detailed development in small groups for medical technology and sports equipment technology, including the areas of simulation, robotics, mobility, augmented reality, medical applications, point-of-care devices, and personalized medical devices

The course comprises an interactive mix of lectures, discussions and individual and group work.
