Learning outcomes of the course unit
  • The ‘third sector’ describes organisations that are non-governmental (even though they might work in partnerships with government agencies), non-profit driven and values-based. Other terms used within this conext are "voluntary - or non-profit organisations".

    Students will get:
    - an insight into the 'third sector" and understand how it differs from other sectors.
    - an understanding of its historic background and how the third sector operates in a local and European context and
    - an overview of the latest deveopments within the third sector

  • The course comprises an interactive mix of lectures, discussions , self study and individual and group work.
