Learning outcomes of the course unit
  • Students:
    • Learn a methodical, goal-oriented way of working in product development
    • Know the methods for the definition of a task as well as the development, evaluation and selection of solution concepts and are able to apply them.
    • Are able to apply efficient methods of innovative thinking, planning and designing, taking into account important criteria and framework conditions with regard to technology, economy and ecology and in terms of holistic optimization.
    • Possess an overview of the various possibilities of computer support in product development and its limitations.
    • Acquire basic knowledge of development methodology and virtual product development
    • Have an understanding of innovation methods, selection and evaluation procedures
    • Acquire basic knowledge in complexity management, methods for complexity control
