“The project offers fresh and realistic approaches to sustainably engage new volunteers.”  Hobby Lobby Innsbruck (Vera Matzak)

THE CHALLENGE

How can young adults be motivated during their free time to volunteer as course instructors for children from disadvantaged backgrounds?

OUTCOMES

A student-centered elective course concept was developed to link academic learning with social engagement. A detailed online survey identified key motivations and barriers for volunteers. The results provide a practical foundation for targeted recruitment strategies and ongoing collaboration between MCI and the Hobby Lobby.
