You graduaded from high school in Austria or you are in your 1st, 2nd, or ongoing 3rd semester at an Austrian university and eager to go the extra mile? Then this program is for you!
In 2019, the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) established the Austrian Study Foundation. It is aimed at talented young people at the beginning of their university studies and supports them throughout their academic career. Admission requires outstanding academic achievements as well as exceptional social engagement, placing you among the top performers in your field of study.
Today, already more than 500 scholars benefit from the Foundation´s unique program and network. As a scholar, you will have access to exclusive seminars, workshops, and fireside talks with leading public figures as well as individual mentoring at your university by experienced researchers and valuable internships at our research institutions. Step 1: Submit your application between 15 September and 15 November 2025 via Onlyfy. Required Documents: CV, certificate of enrolment, transcript of records (or high school diploma for first-semester students) and, if applicable, documentation of extracurricular engagement
Step 2: A selection committee will review your application documents – if successful, you will be invited to the assessment days.
Step 3: Take part in the assessment days (February–March 2026) and demonstrate your skills in an interview, pitch, and group discussion.
Step 4: Join the award ceremony in the Festive Hall of the OeAW and embark on your journey as a scholar.
