  • In today's global and interconnected world, students encounter people with diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. This course will enhance their understanding of
    diversity, intersectionality, and discrimination, providing them with valuable skills that will also
    benefit their future professional lives. It will support students in understanding
    and respecting differences, fostering empathy, and developing strategies for
    creating inclusive environments, all of which are highly relevant and soughtafter qualities in the workplace. The learning from this course contributes to
    their overall personal growth.

    Students will be able to:
    - critically analyse different forms of discrimination (individual, structural, institutional)
    - apply intersectional perspectives to real-world cases
    - recognise and challenge bias in professional and everyday contexts
    - engage confidentialy in discussions on diversity and inequality
    - develop practical strategies for inclusive collaboration and leadership
Course contents
  • - Overview of current definitions of diversity, intersectionality, and affirmative action
    - Introduction to frameworks that explore different forms of discrimination
    - Application of reflective tools to better understand one’s own biases
    and assumptions
    - Exploring why knowledge of diversity and intersectionality is important across all disciplines
    - Analysing current global developments from diverse perspectives
    - Learning about historical contexts that contribute to ongoing discrimination
