Dietary peculiarities of MCI students

Conducting a survey among MCI students to help those affected by digestive problems to achieve a symptom-free daily life

THE CHALLENGE
This project is about working together with the start-up myFODMAP to help people with digestive problems and irritable bowel syndrome live a healthy and symptom-free life. The project work and survey are intended to serve as a basis for the development of suitable products and services for MCI students.

OUTCOMES
The survey among MCI students revealed the following: The Low-FODMAP diet as a solution for irritable bowel syndrome and digestive problems, and as the basis for the business model of myFODMAP, is still relatively unknown. The labels Vegetarian, Vegan, and High Protein are popular and frequently considered when shopping. More than 40% report suffering from digestive problems themselves, and 70% know affected individuals in their social circle. Significantly more women than men suffer from digestive issues. Positive wording on food labels is preferred. Most respondents believe that there should be a wider range of options for people with digestive problems.
