Respect and appreciation in the workplace

Respect and appreciation in the workplace

THE CHALLENGE
Based on the #reschpekt flagship project of the Hand auf's Herz association, the aim was to find out to what extent Tyrolean employees treat others with respect and are treated with respect themselves. In addition, it should be analyzed whether a mobile app, which is intended to create awareness of respect and appreciation in everyday life and at work, will find acceptance in companies.

OUTCOMES
In two groups, students collected data and analysed a set of assumptions they had derived from an extended technology acceptance model. According to innovation literature, whether employees will use a new tool or technology will depend on their behavioural intention to use it, which is explained by their attitude towards using it. The attitude toward using the #reschpekt app could, according to TAM2, be explained by ease of use and perceived usefulness. The empirical studies tested these assumptions and provided Hand auf’s Herz with practical guidance based on their empirical data and recent literature.
