Parental satisfaction with new educational concept at Kinderwelt Stans

The aim was to obtain an external assessment of parents' satisfaction with the open educational concept and to identify areas for further development.

THE CHALLENGE

With the introduction of the educational concept "Open House", the organizational structure of Kinderwelt Stans changed fundamentally. In addition to its practical implementation, ensuring parents' acceptance and trust in the concept became essential. Until now, no systematic data or independent assessment of parents' perceptions had been available, preventing a comprehensive understanding of parental satisfaction.

OUTCOMES

The findings indicate a high overall acceptance of the open educational concept. Parents particularly valued the promotion of children's independence, participation, individual development and communication via the "KidsFox" platform. At the same time, concerns remained regarding support for quieter children and preparation for the transition to school. Parents more often favoured additional structures than educational staff. Based on these findings, the following recommendations were identified:

  • enhanced communication/information for parents regarding school readiness
  • increased pedagogical support for sensitive children
  • making key caregivers more visible to children and parents
  • more consistent communication via "KidsFox"
  • greater transparency of educational processes, stronger parental involvement and regular communication and reflection

These recommendations are intended as practical guidance rather than an evaluation of pedagogical quality.

Partner Statement:
The Municipality of Stans, together with students from the Management Center Innsbruck, launched the project "Parental Satisfaction and Perception of the Educational Reorientation in Kinderwelt Stans." The aim was to find out how parents experience the introduction of the new educational concept "Open House" at Kinderwelt Stans. The main focus was on the question of what experiences parents have had with the change, what they particularly appreciate about it and where they still see potential for improvement.

Through quantitative and qualitative research approaches, in which both educators and parents were surveyed, the project partners were able to gain important insights from the introduction. These insights, together with further suggestions for improvement, will be incorporated into the future work at Kinderwelt Stans in order to further improve the high-quality educational care provided to the children at Kinderwelt Stans.
