ClimateLaunchpad is the world’s largest early-stage green business competition, existing to promote innovative solutions that help combat climate change and accelerate the transition to a more sustainable economy. The competition creates a stage for climate, green and clean tech ideas, but also provides all the knowledge and skills to build a successful business. It was established in 2014, founded and supported by Climate-KIC, EU leading agency for climate innovation. Since its start, ClimateLaunchpad has attracted almost 14,000 ideas that resulted in over 4,300 teams of entrepreneurs trained.
Program operates on a global scale and is run by a central team, which is supported by national host organisations leading the competition on a country level, deciding on the best teams from each country to compete at the Regional and Global Finals. In Austria, Thinkubator has the national management of the competition and accompanies the ten most promising teams annually through training and mentoring. Thinkubator is a leading think tank for the circular economy and sustainable business based in Vienna.
