MCI Impact Makers Summit 2023

Organization and implementation of the MCI Impact Makers Summit which comprised the MCI Sustainability Fair and a speaker event.

THE CHALLENGE
The MCI Impact Makers Summit was the closing event of the MCI Sustainability Week 2023, where businesses showcased their sustainable contributions and experts discussed the future of sustainability. The student group organized and implemented the event by recruiting participants for the fair, engaging with partners, and curating a comprehensive program for the afternoon's activities.

OUTCOMES
The MCI Sustainability Week took place from May 22 to 27 at the campus in Innsbruck under the theme "Together for a sustainable future". The six-day event was aimed at MCI students and staff, pupils, companies, NGOs, and anyone interested in taking social responsibility and contributing to a better future. One of the MCI Sustainability Week’s many highlights was the "Impact Makers Summit" – a fair, which connected visitors with organizations and companies from various sectors, followed by key note presentations and a panel discussion moderated by MCI students. More than 500 people attended the events.

Partner Statement
We are very grateful for the enormous effort the team have put into organising the Impact Makers Summit. They were very motivated, had good ideas and were able to put many of them into practice. They organised a well-attended fair, including a clothes-swapping event and a Repair Café and a speaker event including three keynotes and an expert panel discussion. The summit was a great success, which is the best measure of their achievement. We were very happy with the outcomes and would like to thank all team members for their contribution.
