Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are chronic diseases that are not transmissible person-to-person. They include diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory disease. These diseases are often caused by a combination of genetic, physiological, lifestyle, and environmental factors.

Customers are becoming more and more demanding when it comes to a brands' social and environmental footprint. The sheer volume of cases where companies rely on false, exaggerated or vague sustainability claims to improve their image (so-called greenwashing) has harmed consumers’ trust in marketing and sales initiatives in the area of sustainability. By examining and discussing best-practice and not-so-good practice examples of sustainable marketing, this course will elaborate on how companies can achieve social and environmental sustainability, that, at the same time, is also economical.
