The Lisbon region is the wealthiest region in Portugal and it is well above the European Union's GDP per capita average - it produces 45% of the Portuguese GDP. Lisbon's economy is based primarily on the tertiary sector.
Universidade Nova de Lisboa or NOVA is a Portuguese university in Lisbon. Founded in 1973, it is the youngest of the public universities in the Portuguese capital city, earning its name as the 'New University of Lisbon'.
