    Students receive in-depth knowledge of the analytical methods relevant to biotechnology. Students are particularly familiar with the methods of chromatography and their coupling techniques to spectroscopic methods (mass spectrometry). They are able to describe the process steps qualitatively and quantitatively and to evaluate analytical results and classify them in the production process. The students not only know the corresponding methods for small molecules, but are also familiar with the analytical methods for biomolecules (peptides, proteins, nucleic acids). They can demonstrate the influence of the most important measurement parameters on the selectivity, separation performance and sensitivity of a system. After the internship, the students will be able to plan and perform adequate process analytics.
